I just had a piece of this cake for breakfast. It was moist and fresh tasting. However both the cake part and the poppy seed layer tasted a bit flat. I think this cake would benefit from some vanilla extract and the poppy seed layer perhaps from some orange zest. The crumble was yummy.��But overall pretty good.

My Mother baked a very delicious Mohnkuchen. It was her specialty & popular where she grew up in Oberschlesien. This and her Pflaumenkuchen were the best loved cakes she made for us. This one is a little lighter but very good nevertheless. I highly recommend it. If it were cheaper I would buy it every other week - LOL
The Mohn Streusel took me mentally back home. It is very tasty, just the right moistness and portioned generously. You get 6 individually wrapped pieces in the box, they lasted not even 2 days at the house. I kept the pieces in the frige, as I like them at colder temp vs. room temp. They are simply delicious and if you ever had them in Germany, and then tried these you know they are definitely tasting like home. These do not have the raisins in them, that's another great variation of Mohn Streusel, but even without the raisins, I love them.
