When I was gowing up "pinkel" meant something alltogether different. But once I got over the name I was eager to try it. I know that it is most often served at Christmas with Kale, potatoes, and other meats. "Pinkel und Kohl" is yummy, but I like to break up the Pinkelwurst in a skillet with a bit of oil until it is slightly browned. Then I add diced onions and the Bratkartoffeln I get from GermanDeli (all the brands work well). When the potatoes are hot and slightly browned it's ready to serve. It's a great side dish with eggs for breakfast or for dinner.
