Recipe for Elfie's Cherry Cake

Elfie has been a customer of for years. Elfi and Bill, her trusty assistant and husband, often surprise us with wonderful traditional cakes.

Here is one you'll enjoy.

4 eggs

1 ½ c. sugar

1 envelope Dr. Oetker Bourbon Vanille-Zucker (vanilla sugar)

1 cup Meggle Alpine Butter

2 c. flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 (680 g) jar
Bende Sauerkirschen (well drained)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour 3 X 13 baking pan or large springform pan.

Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, & butter.
Add flour & baking powder.

Pour in pan, spread to level out & scatter drained cherries on top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out dry.
