Recipe for Käsespäzle Auflauf

Käsespätzle Auflauf mit Raclette
(Cheesy German Noodle Casserole with Bacon)

Ingredients:
1 package Henglein Knöpfle Eierspätzle or Eierspätzle*
3 oz. Schaller & Weber Double-Smoked Bacon, diced
1 onion, diced
1 tablespoon ARO Sonnenblumenöl (Sunflower oil)
1 to 1 ¼ cups water
½ cup heavy whipping cream
1 package Maggi fix & Nudel-Schinken Gratin or Knorr Fix Nudel-Schinken Gratin
1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
3oz Raclette, shredded


Preparation:
Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Cook Eierspätzle according to package instructions. Once Spätzle are cooked, drain. Then spread them in the bottom of a baking dish. Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry bacon and onions. Add water and cream to pan and let it heat through. Whisk in package of Nudel-Schinken Gratin Fix. While stirring, bring it to a boil. Let cook for about 1 minute. If desired, stir in caraway seeds. Pour sauce over Spätzle.

Add cheese to the top of mixture and bake for 15 minutes in the oven.

*If using 14 oz. dry Spätzle, prepare them according to package instructions.
