Matjes nach Hausfrauenart
(Home-Style Matjes Herring Fillets with Apples & Quark)

Ingredients:
1 red onion, sliced in rings
1/4 of a small sour red apple (skin attached, cut in thin slices)
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 cup Quark
1/2 packet Knorr Salat-Krönung Dill Kräuter
1 package Matjes Fillets
salt & fresh cracked pepper
1 package Bratkartoffeln (German Fried Potatoes)

Preparation:
Core apple. Cut into quarters and then slice into thin slices. Mix heavy whipping cream & quark.
Add 1/2 packet of Dill Kräuter mix. If desired, add a pinch of salt & pepper. Mix diced onions & apple with sauce. Chill for 2 hours.

After 2 hours, try the sauce. Adjust salt & pepper as desired.

Serve with sliced apples & red onions on the side. For a hearty meal, serve Bratkartoffeln with Matjes.
