Ingredients for Nudelsalat: 1 8.8oz package German Noodles (We like Alb Gold Penne Spelt Egg Noodles) ½ lb Salami or Plockwurst 1/2 cup Emmentaler cheese slices, diced 1 cup Hengstenberg Knax Pickles, diced 1 bell pepper, diced 1 cup Thomy German Mayonnaise salt & pepper to taste (optional) 2 hardboiled eggs 1 tsp of finely chopped capers Preparation for Nudelsalat: Prepare German noodles according to package instructions. Make sure they’re “al dente” and not overcooked. Drain and let noodles cool completely. Slice Salami/Cervelat and cut slices into small pieces, or in 4 pieces. Cut Emmentaler cheese into small strips and German pickles into small pieces. Dice bell pepper. Mix mayonnaise with salt and pepper. Add chopped capers if desired. If you like hardboiled eggs, cut them into small pieces and add them to mixture. Add cold noodles & stir well. Add salami, cheese, pickles and bell pepper. Mix well. Ingredients for Frikadellen: 2 packages Maggi Hackbraten Fix or Knorr Hackbraten Fix 1 cup water 1 lb ground beef 1 lb ground pork Preparation for Frikadellen: Mix water with contents of both packets. Add meat and mix well. Form round hamburger patties and pan-fry until brown on both sides. Serve Frikadellen with Nudelsalat for a quick weeknight meal. Your family will love both!
