Recipe for Shepherd's Pie

Shepherd's Pie

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 large onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, sliced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
2 T. oil
mushrooms, sliced
chicken broth
½ package Knorr Fix Hackbraten
2 packages Knorr Feinschmecker Saucen Edelpilz Sauce

Sauté the onions, garlic and chopped peppers in 2 tablespoons oil.  In a bowl, combine the pork, beef and Knorr Fix Hackbraten.  Add to the pan and brown.  Stir in sliced mushrooms, chicken broth and Knorr Feinschmecker Saucen Edelpilz Sauce package.  Top with Potato Puree and bake until golden brown. 

Kartoffel-Püree (Potato Puree) 

2000ml (about 8 ½ cups water)
4 packages Dr. Knoll Kartoffel-Püree

Heavy cream
Butter
Nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
 

Bring water to a boil.  Remove from heat and whisk in contents of package.  Add butter, cream and spices.  Let cool 5 minutes. 

Place into a piping bag and pipe the potato puree onto the top of the meat.
