Bread Dumplings can be served in place of potatoes, noodles or rice anbd are best smothered in gravy. Most popular in Southern Germany where they are known as Semmel Knoedel. Wonderful with great Sauerbraten, Rouladen or Pot Roast. These may quickly become a family favorite. We keep them frozen at the Deli. If you receive them frozen you can store them in your freezer for a couple of months. If they arrive defrosted, you can keep them refrigerated for up to 4 weeks. Quick and easy to prepare. Simply defrost, remove the casing, drop into boiling water. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and let simmer for 10 minutes. Serve immediatly, or can be left in water for up to 30 minutes with the heat turned off. Do NOT boil after this cooking process.
