My mom use to buy these for my brothers and I, when we lived in Germany in the early 70s'. After I got older, whenever I went into a candy store I would ask if their gummi bears were from Germany and every time I was told no. I gave up on having my beloved German Gummi bears ever again until recently. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! German Deli!! I've let others taste them and they can tell the difference, especially people who've lived in Germany before! Love these more than chocolate!!!

Our family was stationed in Germany when I was girl in the early 1960's, I fell in love with gummi Bears and never got enough of them. When I got older and saw they were in stores, I was excited until I bought them - they were HORRIBLE. Then I realized they not the gummi bears from Germany. I have looked and looked for years until I discovered them on German Deli website. When I received my first order, I was SO EXCITED when I ate my first handful of gummi bears. They were the GENUINE gummi bears I had as a girl. I also learned the United States gummi bears have more sugar and the flavors are in no comparison to the German gummi Bears. German Deli, thank you, thank you, thank you for carrying my favorite German gummi bears!!
These are the ones I remember from the first time I had them in Koln at Christmas time in 1972. The American ones really too sweet - but I guess if you have never had the others, you don't know the difference.
These are just as I used to get while living in Germany. There's so much I miss from there but thankfully no longer Gummi Bären thanks to German Deli. As others have stated; these flavours are just better than the stateside version. One of my favourite things from Deutschland!
I was never crazy about gummy bears until I had these. I'm not sure how it started but I've had either my mom or friends supply me with them whenever they're in Germany. The flavors are sooo much more complex(?) than the American version. The difference is unbelievable. I've been raving about German gummy bears for years, I'm happy I'm not the only one!I just finished my last bag :( , I'll have to stock up on some more.
I have to order a case of them
Reading everyone else's reviews confirms it was not in my mind. Everything is better about the German version over the american version! Not as sweet (just right), the flavor is better (even lemon has an uncommonly good flavor)...and best of all, they have strawberry and raspberry flavors (i don't think they have those in the american version)... I can go on and on...I'm hooked.
Just like I remember,
Had to order 20 bags of these, they are that good. And I thought the american version of the bears were good...
Really light years better tasting than the US market version. You won't be disappointed!
These are the best! Our German excahnge student brought us some and we have been hankering for more!
